Another victim of the curse created by Morvina, the swamp ghoul—once known as Marbosa—is a cursed being whose existence was bound to the fetid swamps and the sinister forces that dwelled within. Morbosa's transformation was a result of a dire encounter with the hag’s curse that permeated the marshlands. Consumed by its malevolence, Morbosa's humanity was stripped away, leaving him as a tortured, undead creature of the mire.
